These songs are original compositions by me. They are very early songs and are entirely created on the keyboards. I do not play trumpet on these. There are of course, synthesized trumpets.

Hollywood Fanfare was written while I was in between songs and was just doodling around and decided I wanted to create a fanfare. I was thinking about all the Hollywood movie studios that have these large over the top fanfares to introduce themselves before the beginning of a movie, so this is what I came up with. A Moment in Time was written for a friend I was seeing at the time. You can hear what sounds like the chimes of a clock throughout the song. Happy Song was something that I wrote for no particular reason and therefore could not come up with a decent title. The working title was Happy Song, and that name simply stuck. Remember Me And I'll Be There was written for my mother. She had a pet cat that she absolutely adored and unfortunately died very quickly and prematurely for unknown reasons. I presented this song to her as a birthday gift. The piece is something of a rhapsody as it has multiple sections of differing musical themes. The second time through the second theme, I wanted a "heavenly" sound and indeed, one of the sounds I used was actually called, "Heaven's Gate". The piano interlude starting at 3:57 after two consecutive false endings has an interesting story. I wanted something new there, but I wasn't sure what. I had the recorder running and was just tinkering out some ideas. So what starts at 3:57 is one of those random thoughts. I think it fit in very appropriately as a very tender moment. The song ends as it began, with nothing but a piano playing the chord progression. However, at the end you can hear it fading out into the distance. Now having put together my explanation with the music, does it move you to tears? Patches Song is one of the very first songs I attempted to write, in 1981. I wrote it for the very first cat we ever had, Patches, a female calico. We would have fun and laugh at the antics and silliness of Patches while she was outside playing and stalking, thinking she was the big game hunter. So I wrote this fun and happy children's style song to represent those antics. During parts of this short tune it might remind you of the Laurel and Hardy theme music.
